But can it be called a haunting if the one "haunting" you loves the bejesus outta you?
I dunno.  But I'm pretty convinced that Pouncer wanted to let me know he was there today. His kitty door kept rattling without the outside door opening. (there's two kitty doors. One leading into the garage, and one leading outside. When the outside door opens and closes, the kitty door on the inside rattles due to some sort of suction. Today, with everyone in the house, and me making cookies, the inside kitty door has been rattling every so often. My mom's dog took notice and went to check it out, being such a out of the ordinary thing to happen with everyone in the house. He sniffed the door a little and went to lay back down.
In life, Pouncer and my mom's dog, Toby, coexisted peacefully and I'm sure Toby saw Pouncer as his best friend, while Pouncer tolerated him, but obviously cared about him in a way. So I assume since animals are more sensitive to the paranormal,  Toby must have sensed that he isn't a threat and merely wanted to be with his family on Easter.
I believe Pouncer has been our friendly ghost in the house since we still hear meowing every so often and I see flash-images of him walking about, and I even heard a noise one night that was unique to him, the sound he makes when he's sleeping and shifting positions, like a groan mixed with a sigh. When I heard that, I nearly cried, because I was happy that he chose to sleep in my room still, even after his life was over. I don't know why he is still here, but I welcome him to stay as long as he wants.
He's still greeting me even after death and letting me know he loves me. He's the Guardian of the house
